For an alternative to the basic wrap or sandwich, Roly Poly is the place to go. Although it looks like your typical fast food restaurant, the variety of roll up sandwiches was quite daunting. The menu also includes an impressive selection of salads, such as the Walnut Spinach Salad and the Brown Derby Cobb with chicken, bacon, blue cheese, and avocado.

Their soup selection is equally impressive changing daily from soups such as the Loaded Baked Potato soup to the more traditional Roasted Garlic Tomato.

After some deliberation over the 52 varieties of roll-ups I settled on the Pesto Chicken. This roll up was stuffed with sliced chicken breast, melted provolone cheese, plum tomatoes, onion, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, pesto sauce, grilled golden brown with a side of ranch dressing. After taking one bite I was so glad I had ordered the 12 inch regular size, opposed to the smaller 6 inch small, because this roll up was not like anything I had eaten at a fast food restaurant.

I thought maybe I had lucked out with my choice but upon glancing through the menu I saw other tantalizing roll-ups such as the Hickory Cristo (turkey breast, melted Swiss and brie cheese, baby spinach, plum tomatoes, mushrooms, with a side of dill horseradish sauce), the Chipotle Cheese Steak (grilled sirloin steak, melted cheddar and jalapeņo jack cheese, onion, mushrooms, green pepper, and a mild chipotle ranch dressing), and a humorous one, Porky's Nightmare which includes a staggering amount of pork: pork tenderloin, ham, and bacon, along with cheddar and Swiss cheese, lettuce, plum tomatoes, onions, and a spicy honey mustard.

The menu also has a great vegetarian selection which my friend tried out. She ordered the French Twist, which was stuffed with Swiss and brie cheese, baby spinach, plum tomatoes, mushrooms, scallions, and a side of spicy honey mustard. Even for a meat-lover as myself, it looked quite appealing.

So if you are one of the many in search of an alternative to the typical plain, boring sandwich places, this may be your best bet and I am sure you will find something you enjoy.
