As I drove to Omega House, I found myself rather lost, as I rarely drive out to the Peters Creek Parkway area. Just for a moment, I thought that perhaps I had left the Dash altogether. Soon enough though, I spotted Omega House restaurant at a stoplight intersection. The place wasn't crowded at the early dinner hour of 5:30 p.m.
Once inside, you'll find seats at booths, tables, or the counter. My friends and I chose a booth and after settling in a waitress quickly took our drink orders. The restaurant's older mix of music evoked a diner atmosphere.
After 10 minutes of perusing the menu, we all had decided on a range of different fare. As a group, we ordered up a bacon and sausage omelet with home fries, the pork souvlaki with French fries, a salad with Pita bread, and a cheeseburger club with French fries.
Our meal came quickly and soon enough our table fell silent; all of us were too busy eating. I tried a bite of everyone's meal. The omelet was fluffy and loaded with bacon and sausage. My friend consumed all of her home fries before I had a chance to taste them--apparently they were that good. The cheeseburger club was a heavy and full dish, definitely not for the faint of heart. As for the pork souvlaki, it was a new experience, but a great one.
Omega House offers a wide variety of options to satisfy all of your dining needs. From basic burgers and fries, to affordable sub and club sandwiches ($5-$8), there is something for everyone. Omega House's salad selection is sure to please any vegetarian, too. And, for those health-conscious omnivores out there, any salad can be topped with a meat of your choice. Breakfast is available all day, as are daily and weekly specials. Additionally, there are Greek dishes such as pork souvlaki, pita sandwiches, and baklava. The pricing for any of the dishes is reasonable; nothing was priced over $10 except for the rib-eye steaks. Take out is available for the student on the run.
I highly suggest this restaurant if you're seeking a new dining experience. The service was great and friendly, and the menu contains a wide range of good-tasting fare. And, perhaps most importantly, Omega House's reasonably-priced entrees definitely cater to the frugal college student's budget.
