In late March, the Triad area began the Triad Commute Challenge, a way to be environmentally-conscious by promoting clean air solutions through alternative forms of transportation. By way of biking, carpooling, walking, and more each person in the surrounding area can lower commuting costs while simultaneously promoting a cleaner environment. By accepting the challenge, not only are people making a pledge to promote a more favorable environment, but they are also entering themselves in a drawing for various prizes. Thanks to Platinum Sponsors, the North Carolina Zoo and Le Bleu Ultra Pure Bottled Water, as well as various other Gold, Silver, and Bronze Sponsors, a mixture of prizes such as gift cards, tickets, business memberships, and a range of electronics will be given away. Nearly 2,000 people have already taken the challenge. The website includes all additional information, including pledge forms and an informative video. The challenge continues until June 23.
